Enjoy a Scotland Cruise on Lord of the Glends

Traverse the Heart of the Highlands
At 150 feet in length and 34 feet wide, the vessel was designed to transit the network of locks and canals that cut through the heart of the Highlands. Constructed by Spanish craftsmen to exacting standards, the ship is designed to cope with the rigours of the sheltered waters of Scotland’s west coast and navigate the intricate confines of the canal with its 29 locks and 10 swing bridges.

Design
The Royal Yacht Brittania inspired the redesign of Lord of the Glens. It helped define the look of the vessel, including its ‘Mauritius’ deep blue hull, complemented by an all-around band and resplendent eagle motifs all in gold. Inside, the ship is just as beautiful. It greets guests with a classical look, and a feeling of warmth and comfort. Guests will find rich hardwood finishes and Highland artwork throughout.

Layout
There are four passenger decks on Lord of the Glens. Each one has a window or portholes to enjoy the passing scenery. Cabins are throughout three decks. The upper deck houses the lounge, a well-stocked bar and a library and affords magnificent, panoramic views.

Dining
Food on board Lord of the Glens is freshly prepared using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. This gives guests a taste of Scotland on their voyage. The vessel’s team of experienced chefs make use of bountiful Scottish meats, fish and poultry. Meals are an invitation to dine among friends in the elegant Robert Louis Stevenson restaurant, where all-round picture windows afford the finest views as the scenery glides gently by.

Lord of the Glens tariff includes all meals and excursions, whilst the relaxed and cosy atmosphere ensures a carefree holiday.

Crew
Our Captain and crew are all hand-picked. With their years of experience and local knowledge, our cruises offer an insight into the landscape, history and heritage of this beautiful part of Scotland.

Lord of the Glens operates an ‘open bridge’ policy. When the Captain is not manoeuvring the vessel in the intricate locks and bends of the meandering canal, guests are welcome to visit the Bridge and chat to the mariners on duty.

A wealth of choice
So join us on a scenic cruise and see Scotland in style. Commencing in Inverness, Oban or Kyle of Lochalsh, each cruise offers a unique experience. Lord of the Glens cruises in Scotland are perfect for those wishing to enjoy a holiday with a difference.
