The Northern Lights, a MAGICAL experience!

The aurora borealis, also known as the aurora borealis, is a natural phenomenon mostly seen in polar regions, such as the Arctic.
The phenomenon is caused by the interaction between charged particles from the solar wind and the Earth's magnetic field.

When charged particles, mainly electrons and protons, from the solar wind, enter Earth's atmosphere,
they collide with gases in the atmosphere, such as oxygen and nitrogen. These collisions lead to the release of energy in the form of light, resulting in the beautiful spectacle of the Northern Lights.

The aurora usually appears in shades of green, pink, purple and red, depending on the type of gas-particle involved in the collisions. Although it is mainly seen in the polar regions, strong solar activity and geomagnetic storms can sometimes make the northern lights visible at lower latitudes, such as Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland or Greenland.

You can only see the northern lights after dark and is a very special natural phenomenon.
It is the most beautiful light show in the world!
